Like many of you out there, I am a young filmmaker, trying to get my vision onto the screen by any means possible. With the prices of dv equipment decreasing by the week and the mentality of the aspiring filmmaker getting more, perhaps arrogant or more positive in that many of us think that it is feasible now to make a movie by ourselves or with a few friends. Don't you think that with the explosion of independent cinema in this country, that it's going to produce many more bad movies and the distributors and buyers are going to raise the bar for independent films that get "picked up." And so the many wannabes out there will be just fooling themselves. And those wannabes may in fact include me. I don't know. But I/we have to try, right?

Thats the way of the world. For all the crap that gets made, some of its not to bad. for all the stuff thats not too bad, some of it gets to the big time.

do what you do, make it the best you can, and then make like foolmaster and scream about it everywhere until someone takes a look. it still might be crap BUT if your'ne not braid dead - you will get better. and you will learn how.

that bloke who made the light bulb, made 999 crap ones first.....

if you make 1 good film for every 10 or 100, your'e getting better odd than him - and look what happended to the light bulb.

sorry - the drugs are waring off. and I never could spell.
    ;-)

    Question

Talent always wins through...or so says Eminem. Then again, Eminem says a lot of things...

    Anyone remember the DTP 'revolution'.

All the talentless dicks with the expensive equipment got nervous 'cos suddenly some scruffy kid could set up a print shop and produce better product.

Talent is a moot point unless you are talking about Art IMHO.
